Trucking industry and the dented image
Through www.bid2load.com which is a matchmaking service between empty trucks and available bulk loads, am exposed to fraudulent activities on a daily basis.
Some bogus transport brokers advertise fake loads to lure innocent truck operators into believing there have genuine loads. Huge upfront admin fees are then charged with no guarantees of work awarded after payments has been made.
New entrants into the industry are soft targets since they lack experience to see trouble coming. For unknown reasons lots of ‘aspirant entrepreneurs’ believe the trucking industry provides overnight success which is not the case.
This industry is capital intensive, therefore to make success from it, you’ll first need to invest in resources which happen to costs a fortune. Trucks are the backborne of the food chain and without them you’ll bound to be taken for a costly ride.
As in any business, its foolish to enter into business without experience…just because you read on newspapers that so and so made it through trucks, does not guarantee you to venture into the wilderness and strike it rich.
