Outsourcing vs in-house advertising team?
I manage a few websites, some of them sell advertising as a source of revenue. I use a third party to source advertisers on my behalf. Since am not experienced in selling advertising , I find it easy to move this task to an entity experienced in that field.
In my situation am comfortable with the arrangement as it enables me to focus on my strengths of ensuring quality content on my sites on a regular basis, while also not forced to pay salaries for sales staff. Paying an agreed commission on all new advertisers secured is very attractive to me.
From time to time I brainstorm revenue ideas with the sales team which keeps them interested on my product, as I always try to innovate where possible, to attract new advertisers.
Though advertisers are not always forthcoming as per my wish, I use google adsense to generate extra income for vacant spots and this has been a great help since day one. It’s not huge amounts of money, however am able to also rotate the revenue obtained from it into buying advertising to sell my service on google adwords.
Would be interested to get feedback from those web entreprenuers who use in-house sales team to source advertisers.
Why don’t you use third party advertising sales agents?

Hi there – I would really appreciate some feed back from web entrepreneurs as to how this system is working for them and which companies they have found to work best for this out-sourcing sales module. Please could you send me more information. We have started a website that is an information resource for people looking for building, décor or home improvement tips, products or services. We have come the whole process but keep on getting stuck on this part and if we don’t have advertisers then we won’t be able to keep going.
Greetings Vanessa,
I’ve browsed through your website and I start point out that the starting point is generating unique content. This will help attract readers to your website before you can start thinking of advertisers.
Once you’ve built traffic (readership), then you’ll be able to sell advertising space to the targeted industry.
All advertisers want your website stats before deciding to buy advertising space.
